Welcome to the website of Annette Beaumont Ellis – the digital home of an experienced piano teacher, offering bespoke piano lessons in Chelsea and Kensington, London.
I was a member for many years of the piano faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada; I have also recently advised on a review of their exam syllabus.
I tutor students ranging from beginner to post-diploma level. I can provide piano lessons in London to children and adults of all capabilities, from both public and private schools. Lessons are held in my Chelsea studio.
My involvement in music education has spanned over 30 years – from adjudicating a variety of competitions, both national and international, to entering students in exams that allow them to succeed at senior school and university.
After many years in Toronto, Canada – the most ethnically diverse city in the world – I am a proud teacher of many students of Chinese, Hong Kongese, Taiwanese, Japanese, and other European and Asian backgrounds. All students are welcome.
By subscribing to renowned teaching methods, such as those of Dame Fanny Waterman, all of the lessons I offer are rooted in the security of technique and the exploration of imagination and musicianship.
I have always believed in the importance of the arts – particularly music – as a basis for developing human potential. When considering a piano teacher, it is important that you select a patron of the arts – one who appreciates creativity and curiosity.
As a Lead Patron and supporter of the Leeds Piano Competition, as well as an active supporter and Patron of the Royal Ballet, Royal Opera House, Opera North, and other institutions, I strive to encourage all of my students’ development, talent, and enjoyment of the piano.
I encourage students to enter exams up to diploma level, and as a result, many have achieved UCAS points that have helped their acceptance into high-performing senior schools and universities of their choice.
